In light of the current uncertainty regarding restrictions, and in the interest of the safety of the community, we have made the decision to cancel the onsite Gingerbread house making event. It’s sad that we will not be going ahead with this, but we think it is the right thing to do at this time.

However, we still would like to give your family and household the opportunity to do a gingerbread house together, and so we will be organising times on Christmas Eve where you can come to church and pick up your Gingerbread House for your household.

  • 3:30-3:50
  • 4:00-4:20
  • 5:40-6:00
  • 6:10-6:30

Please use this form Gingerbread House Collection to let us know when you will be coming to collect your gingerbread house kit. If you are unable to make it at any of the above times, please let us know and we will work out some alternative arrangements.

Your Gingerbread House Kit + lollies + icing will be collected from the front of our War Memorial Hall. Once you arrive, please line up, with appropriate social distancing from other people queuing. Approach the collection desk from the stairs facing Shaftsbury Road, and then exit via the stairs leading away from Shaftsbury Rd. You will be required to check in with our QR code upon entry.

If you have purchased an additional gingerbread house kit, you will be able to pay for this on collection as well.

We are still planning on doing a puppet show for families, and at this stage we plan to do a livestream on our youtube channel – Eastwood Anglican Church from 5:00-5:20. More details to come on this soon!

Even in these unprecedented and unexpected times we still would like to have this opportunity to share the good news of Christmas and the birth of Jesus with you, and we hope you are still able to have this time as a family to build a gingerbread house together, and share in our puppet show all about that good news.

In Christ,

Jason Smith
