Bible Reading

Romans 14:1-5

1Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. 2One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. 4Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

Who are the weak among us? Who are the strong? How do we care for each other in a diverse and multicultural area like Eastwood, with so many different backgrounds? Paul the apostle encourages us to consider how we love each other and those around us. This is what we must consider as we serve and minister together... without judging.

Vision 2030!

Please pray with us as we plan for the next 7 years of growth, as well as develop a strategic investment and financial plan for Eastwood and Ermington. Our two major areas for consideration:

Equipment:

Our Parish Council are working on this area of ministry.

Current needs:

* chairs - project #1 - is underway. $3500 raised so far! Please consider giving $100 to buy a chair! Chair fundraiser details

* buildings/ meeting space - options are being considered, especially for our main space need on Sundays - such as kids' groups

* Other: a need for covered outdoor spaces for outdoor meetings, kids' groups, morning teas, etc.

Equipping:

Term 2 training week is in week 5 for all congregations. Please talk to your pastor about ways in which you may be able to train for Evangelism and mission this year.

Our staff team are working on this area of ministry.

Current needs

* leadership for growth groups,

* personnel for work around our sites

* General training week for welcoming, service leading, pastoral care, and more. More details on the events page

Works report

Ermington:

A Development Application is in process of being prepared for Parramatta Council for a new shade shelter over the new playground (funded by a State government grant)

Pedestrian gates have been installed in the perimeter fence for better access.

Road base is being investigated for the car park area.

Air conditioning has been installed in the main meeting area and is fully functional now - and warm for the cold winter days!

Other needs are being investigated such as toilet issues and accessibility issues.

Eastwood:

The tender documents for the detention tank and the car park are complete and we are currently discussing costs/quotes with tenders.

Bells (Eastwood): We continue working on submitting a Development Application for Ryde Council.
