Some conversations leave us feeling depleted, drained, or wanting to run away! As Christ’s representatives, we don’t want people to feel that way about their conversations with us! Instead, we want our conversational partner to feel seen, heard, loved, affirmed, and built up. Additionally, when we talk to non-Christians, we hope that our meaningful conversation will act like an entrée that leaves them wanting the main course, Jesus!
This session is for anyone looking to upskill conversationally, to build up Christian brothers and sisters, and to build gospel bridges with unbelievers.
Areas to be covered in our training include:
- How meaningful conversations fit into a broader definition of evangelism.
- What an “other centred” conversation looks like.
- How to hold the great commission (Making God known) and the great commandments (to love God first and our neighbour as ourselves) in tension.
- Conversational risk.
- Conversational safeguards.
- How good pastoral conversations can lead to increased gospel opportunities and receptivity.
