Cantonese Congregation Ministry Report

Cantonese Congregation

As we move into the year 2025, we joyfully celebrate a significant milestone—the 25th anniversary of the Cantonese Service at St. Philip’s. For a quarter of a century, God has faithfully sustained and nurtured our congregation, shaping us into a spiritual family rooted in worship, fellowship, and mission. We give thanks to the Lord for His steadfast love and for every brother and sister who has contributed to this journey.

One of the highlights of this past year was the infant baptism of little Elijah Ao. It was a beautiful reminder of God’s covenant grace and of our shared responsibility as a church family to nurture the next generation in the faith. We rejoice with Elijah’s family and pray that he will grow to know and follow Christ wholeheartedly.

We are also encouraged to see steady growth in our prayer meeting and Bible study groups. More people are gathering weekly to seek God’s presence and study His Word together. As numbers increase, we are praying that God will provide a larger room to accommodate this growth, so that more members can participate comfortably.

We thank God for the new visitors He has brought to us, many of whom have now settled into our congregation. Their presence has strengthened our community and enriched our fellowship.

Since the first day of my ministry at St. Philip’s, I have prayed for God to bring more young families into our Cantonese congregation. God is faithful. Recently, two young families have begun worshiping with us and may be settling down long-term. In light of this development, we are praying for God to provide a simple children’s program to serve current needs, with the potential for future expansion as our congregation grows.

May God continue to guide, strengthen, and use our community for His glory.
