Thanks to God's gracious provision and guidance in the past year, the Mandarin ministry has experienced flourishing growth. We are especially thankful that despite some impacts from the pandemic, our brothers and sisters’ enthusiasm for pursuing faith and a heart for serving has not been affected. The number of attendees for the Mandarin morning and afternoon services has increased from an average of 50 people early last year to an average of more than 100 people. The various growth groups and fellowships have also experienced stable growth in numbers. With more young families joining, the young family group established last year has also grown into two groups.
Brothers and sisters are enthusiastically engaged in serving, making various ministries flourish. The Mandarin choir rehearsed diligently and contributed greatly. They used beautiful singing to praise God and spread the Gospel in Easter Friday and Christmas combined services. In terms of outreach ministries, we have established ping-pong activities on Mondays and Aerobic Fitness Exercises on Wednesday evenings. The Mandarin sisters are also passionate about the Craft Afternoon activity. Existing Badminton Fellowship and Eden Playgroup ministries have also continuously received new friends to serve the community and brothers and sisters.
This year, the Mandarin congregation systematically launched a three-stage Adult Sunday School course after the Sunday service to help brothers and sisters of different levels and needs grow in spiritual life. Meanwhile, as new people continue to join, we need to be more engaged in the welcoming and care ministries to help new friends integrate into the church. In addition, we need to train more leaders to co-work together to flourish the Lord's church. We hope that under the vision and theme of "The Year of Evangelism" in the church this year, various ministries can bear good fruit for the Lord by relying on God's grace.
