Bible Reading

Luke 17:20-30. In this passage, Jesus reminds us of the need for evangelism. Jesus' return will be unknown. At any time. We should be desperate for people to know Jesus BEFORE he returns - which could be anytime! This is such an encouraging passage to lead us into the year of evangelism for 2023.

Special giving 2022 updates

Thanks Giving 2022: $87,290

Building Giving for 2022: $255,695

Youth ministry pledges: $16,800

Budget 2023

In 2023, we will be seeking to increase our weekly offertories by 12%. We would like to encourage all members to be prayerful in considering their own capacity for financial giving in the new year.

New Youth Minister Position (P/T)

Pledge forms will be available at church and online to pledge financial and prayer support for our new youth minister position for 2023. Thank you to all who have already been able to pledge. Please consider this opportunity over the coming months. This will greatly help us in our budgeting. We appreciate your prayers for this. Our aim is to reach $40,000 in pledges. We are currently at $16,800.

Works report

Ermington:

The playground has been completed and is getting a lot of use already!

A kitchen has also been installed in the main church hall and looks amazing. This kitchen sourced for free, and installed by committed volunteers, has replaced a very old kitchen.

We will be addressing the car-park needs now the playground is completed.

And finally, all the rubbish has been removed from the site (accumulated through several recent clean-ups)

A state government grant (Community Building Partnership) of $28,527 has been received for the construction of a shade shelter over the playground.

Eastwood: A few important small projects have been completed in the past month:

A new stage has been built in the war memorial hall - this is a result of the Thanks Giving fundraising. ($847). This stage was also built by committed volunteers from our church family. Thank you!

A new fence will soon be installed with a gate between the church and the CMC, and a new enclosure for the upper balustrade on the ramp will be attended to in order to increase child safety.

We are awaiting some structural engineering designs for the underground detention tank.

Bells (Eastwood): No further progress at this stage. Financial gifts towards this work are encouraged.

Finances

Our current giving is at 98.3% - a slight drop from last month.

As we plan for increased costs ahead, please pray that we can maintain reaching our 2022 budget in preparation for next year. Please do take time to review your giving for the year ahead - prayerfully and cheerfully!
