Happy New Year!
Firstly, I want to thank everyone involved in our Christmas ministries: all those who helped with leafleting, who sang and played music, who welcomed guests, and those who provided food, packed up, and packed down, and the list goes on. Your energy and dedication are a gift from God. Please pray that as we enter the new year, the Gospel seeds planted during our Christmas services will take root, grow, and bear fruit.
Secondly, as the New Year approaches, it's a time to reflect on the past year and the one ahead. Traditionally, it is the time to make resolutions for the year to come. Last Sunday, I spoke from Psalm 19 ...that keeping God’s word brings great reward and is sweeter than honey and more precious than gold. It refreshes your soul and brings joy to your heart. So, why wait? Why put it off? Why deny yourself a secure and wonderful connection to God and his purposes for you? Because the voice of God is more magnificent than any star in the galaxy: Turn to Him. Hear Him.
- If you would like more Christian fellowship, accountability and support around studying the Bible, why not join a growth group?
- If you would like to pray more, why not join an existing prayer group or even start your own prayer triplet?
- If you would like help to read the bible, why not download an app to help read the bible in a year, like YouVersion, or use our own church Bible reading program at stphils.org.au/readings
We'd love to help. See you in the New Year!
Yours in Christ,
Eric
